Lubbock ISD Statement
–
Dear Lubbock ISD families,
Thank you for your ongoing engagement and support as we work together through the Future Focus Committee’s recommendations. We recognize that these decisions are difficult, and we deeply appreciate the thoughtfulness and commitment each of you brings to this process. Your perspectives are essential as we make choices that best serve our students, staff, and community.
We have heard feedback from the community that the timeline feels rushed, and we want to ensure there is adequate time for discussion and reflection. In response, the committee’s recommendations have been removed from the Lubbock ISD Board of Trustees’ November 7 workshop agenda. Instead, these recommendations will be discussed as a workshop item at the board meeting on Thursday, November 21. Voting on any proposed changes will take place at a special called meeting, which has not yet been scheduled.
Additionally, we will have more information related to campus pairings for the Future Focus Committee to review at their next meeting. This information will be crucial in guiding the ongoing discussions and helping to shape the final recommendations.
To keep you informed, we will continue to add updates and detailed information at www.LubbockISD.org/futurefocus. If you have questions or additional feedback, please feel free to reach out by emailing lubbockisdlistens@lubbockisd.org. Your input remains vital as we move forward in this process.
Thank you for your patience, compassion, and dedication as we navigate these important decisions together.

Update on Future Focus Committee Recommendations
-statement sent to parents at Ramirez Elementary
Dear Ramirez Elementary School families,
I know many of you are aware of the recent work by the Future Focus Committee to assess facility and resource needs across Lubbock ISD. This committee—made up of parents, community members, district leaders, students, and staff—was established to carefully consider the best solutions to support our students’ learning environments while effectively managing district resources.
Following an in-depth review of data, participant voting, and community feedback, the Lubbock ISD Administration has decided to remove Ramirez Elementary School from the list of schools under consideration for consolidation at this time. This decision reflects an understanding of the deep connections and heartfelt pride that define the Ramirez community, and we appreciate everyone who shared their voice throughout this process.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to Ramirez Elementary School. We look forward to continuing to serve your family, and we are grateful to be part of such a supportive and close-knit school community.

PTA Statement
–
Last night, Ramirez PTA learned that our school was seemingly taken off the table for consolidation in Phase One. While we are proud of our efforts thus far; We also remain cautiously optimistic moving forward, and are committing to remaining vigilant in our advocacy campaign until we have confirmation from the school board, and have learned more about phase 2. We still urge everyone to continue to advocate for Ramirez, as well as the many other schools facing closure. Thank you to everyone who has advocated for us so far! We wanted to be heard, and we were. We remain committed to keeping up the momentum and hope you do too!
