“What can I do now?”

Take ACTION!

Ramirez Elementary is dedicated to serving our community by delivering excellent education. We are relieved to have been removed from the list of schools considered for consolidation and closure, yet our commitment to transparency and the protection of our special programs remains steadfast. We actively advocate to ensure our school is not reconsidered for closure or restructuring in future phases. Our commitment to championing the best interests of our students and staff is unwavering, and we deeply value the support of our community in these efforts.

Dr. Rollo and the Lubbock ISD school board has made it clear that they would like feedback and input from community members on this topic, so please contact Future Focus Committee members, LISD Board of Trustees and Texas legislators. Be fact-driven in your email. Share your true and honest perspective on what you would do if these changes occur. If you are considering leaving the district, mention that. Explain what initially drew you to this school and what keeps you here. Be specific about Ramirez’s unique culture and why it cannot be replicated elsewhere. When writing to the legislature, clearly express your thoughts on the root causes behind this situation, such as the loss of funding.

Maybe you don’t have time to write an email, or maybe you’re just not sure what to say. We’ve got you covered!

Texas Legislature
Mention the possible school closings and your opinions on vouchers and how lack of state funding is the root cause of the current deficit, school closings DO NOT look good for elections.
